Qualitative and Quantitative Design

Design of a research can be defined as a plan for collecting and analyzing the evidences in order to answer all the research questions. It helps the researcher to define research study from data collection to the data analysis techniques. There are two types of research design that help researcher to conduct research study in an effective way.

In present scenario, most of the researcher uses both qualitative and quantitative research design for their research study. Some researcher uses single research design according to their research issue. Qualitative research design can be described as a process that helps researcher to collect data and also helpful to develop in-depth knowledge and understanding about particular situation (Flick 2009).

On the other side, quantitative research design is a process that help researcher to measure the data and information and represent it in the form of some statistical analysis.

Research Approach

Research approach also plays an important role in order to develop the research design and increase the effectiveness of research study. An effective research approach helps the researcher to represent research outcomes in an effective manner. In research methodology, most of the researcher uses two research approaches such as inductive and deductive research approach. In deductive research approach, researcher develops a theory and hypothesis and designs a research strategy to test the hypothesis through the collection and analysis of data. The deductive research approach is used with the positivism and qualitative research. Deductive research approach helps researcher to explain casual relationship between variables.

On the other hand, inductive research approach is used with the interpretive and qualitative research. In this research approach, researcher collects the data and information and develops theory with the help of data analysis and compare with existing theory and produce the outcomes. Most of the researcher use inductive research approach, when a theory is derived from observations. In this, the researcher begins research with specific observation and tries to measure them (Johnson and Christensen 2010).

Risks faced by workers in 21st century U.S.

The U.S. is well developed country and lot of job opportunities are provided by the U.S. The employer of the U.S. provides lot of benefits of their employees. In 2001, 54% employees covered by the health insurance and in 2001, these were 55%. In twenty- first century workers face a lot of problems because presence of high competition in the market. The responsibility of the employees regarding the job will also increase due to the competition (Karoly, at al 2004). The wage structure and salary package are also affected and the employees’ moved the job. Immigrant workers shall return their own home due to unfavorable environment. So, different risks related to job, movements, roles, wages, salaries, are faced by the twenty first century workers.
